The Association for the Rights of Children in Southeast Asia (ARCSEA), in partnership with the UP Children’s Rights Advocates League (UP CRAdLe), gathered youth from various senior high schools and colleges on November 8, 2024, to discuss updates and action plans for lobbying the Magna Carta of Children (MCC).

Ms. Fauline Brecio from Gabriela Women’s Partylist led the discussion on MCC progress, noting that House Bill 10159 moved past committee level in May, while Senate Bill 2612 is still under review. The participants explored advocacy strategies, including lobbying efforts, community mobilization, and building support networks to strengthen children’s rights.

Youth representatives from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Science High School, Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines, along with organizations like the Operations Research Society of the Philippines, Development Initiative, and Supreme Secondary Learner Government, came together in solidarity to advance the Magna Carta of Children initiative.
